Lintuhtine (pronounced lin too teen ah) is a Maliseet term meaning “Let Us Sing” - an appropriate name for a music group that boasts 11 very distinct entities including Lintuhtine Junior Music A, B & Jr. Ensemble, Lintuhtine Youth Choir, Lintuhtine Melodies, Lintuhtine Ensemble, Lintuhtine Harmonies, Lintuhtine Ukuleles A & B, Tin Whistle and Gaelic.
These groups include members from Oromocto, Village of Gagetown, Cambridge Narrows, Geary, Fredericton, New Maryland and surrounding communities.
In addition to concerts and community performances, Lintuhtine has also recorded two CDs and one DVD. Each year the choirs present two Christmas concerts with the proceeds being turned over to the Local Food Banks. We are pleased that our main "home" venues for Lintuhtine concerts are the Oromocto United Church in Oromocto and Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Fredericton. As of 2009 a third Christmas concert has been added to accomodate our growing Academy with proceeds going to the music programme.
Our Community Partners include the Town of Oromocto and the Department of Leisure Services, the Oromocto Rotary Club, the Oromocto Veterinary Hospital, N.B. School District 17, Tony's Music Box and the parents and friends of Lintuhtine.

The very dedicated Volunteer Music Academy team is truly grateful for all the continued support they have been given throughout the years! Because of you, so many young people have greatly benefited from this choral programme and have gone on to become our teachers, counsellors, nurses, doctors, musicians and chemists, to name just a few. The music groups teach not only music and song, but the lessons of teamwork, commitment, responsibility and lifelong friendships .

Remember LINTUHTINE – Let Us Sing !
